In 2010, when the acoustic world was running to cold digital modeling, Baggs chose a different route. We believed a real mic would do a better job of being a mic. Leaning into pure analog physics, we bypassed the digital emulation idea to create our award-winning Anthem System.
The Anthem SL was designed as the streamlined version of the Anthem. Utilizing a pre-set mix between the mic and pickup, you get the best tonal qualities of the Anthem with a simplified control unit and minimalist endpin preamp.
Building directly off of the specialized engineering of our Baggs Violin Pickup design, molding our miniature vibration sensor directly into the bridge, we adapted this same concept for the banjo.
Amplifying a ukulele used to mean taking a random guitar pickup system and trying to adapt it to fit, or installing a large, bulky onboard preamp/EQ system that weighed more than the instrument itself. We created the Baggs Five.O Ukulele Pickup to solve both of these problems.
Bridge plate contact pickups aren’t anything new, but while traditionally they’ve offered a warm and woody sound, they have struggled with feedback and often require a permanent, glued-in installation.
Most acoustic pickups make you choose. You can get the tone you want, but fight feedback all night. Or you can get the volume you want, with a thin, plastic sound that leaves your performance feeling flat.
Traditional soundhole pickups sound notoriously magnetic, amplifying the sound of the strings while losing the character of your guitar’s body. The patented M1 changed the rules.
Traditional soundhole pickups are notoriously magnetic, amplifying the sound of the strings while losing the character of your guitar’s body. The patented M1 changed the rules.
If traditional magnetic pickups have a one-dimensional sound, and the body-sensitive M1 has a two-dimensional sound, then the M80 unlocks the third dimension.
Mandolins inherently produce a sound that is rich in transient detail and upper harmonics. When creating the Radius Mandolin Pickup, we knew we had to design something fundamentally different to capture that response.
The Session VTC takes the studio-inspired features that we originally pioneered in our Session DI and builds them into the guitar’s onboard electronics.
The Stage Pro Anthem utilizes the same Element Pickup and TRU•MIC as the standard Anthem, and gives you even more control over your sound via the system’s side-mounted controls for EQ, blending, anti-feedback, and onboard tuning.
The Stage Pro Element preamp uses our minimalist pickup and adds the maximum amount of onboard control via the system’s side-mounted control panel. The Element is the pickup system that we stripped down to bare essentials.
Bowed strings vibrate in a left and right motion. That left and right energy is transferred through the “heart" of the bridge. Instead of just sticking a pickup to the violin, we created a pickup that became one with the bridge.
Built on our decades of experience in designing DIs, the Align Active DI features some of the most pristine and transparent circuitry we’ve ever developed.
Most players dream of making their acoustic guitar sound the same as their favorite record, but those professional studio tools weren’t designed for live performance…until now.
Most electric bass players are all too familiar with plugging directly into the PA and getting a flat, uninspiring sound from the speakers. The Stadium DI was designed by our bass-playing engineering team to solve that live-performance problem.
Built on the shoulders of the legendary Para Acoustic DI, the Baggs Venue DI puts you in the driver’s seat of your own sound, in any venue. Guitarists know they will face unpredictable stages, from faulty monitors to questionable house PAs, and the constant threat of feedback.
Since the beginning of acoustic amplification, musicians have been forced to sacrifice the complex sound of their prized guitars to play at louder volumes. You could use a mic to capture detail and suffer feedback, or use a pickup for higher volumes at the expense of your guitar’s true voice.
Touring has always come with a trade-off. Mic your favorite acoustic and fight feedback all night, or plug in and settle for the “quack” that drains your performance of its sonic soul. We don’t believe in compromise.
We designed the Align Chorus for players who don’t like Chorus, to complement your acoustic tone rather than overwhelm it. With the effect in side-chain, the Chorus adds fullness behind your guitar without any signal degradation.
A year after releasing the original four Align Series pedals, we followed up with two additional and highly sought-after effects. The first of those was a Delay. The Align Delay expands your sonic profile for a multidimensional sound and feel.
This is basically the guts of our Para DI, minus the DI. The Align EQ features our proprietary 6-band EQ combined with our high-graded FET gain staging to add richness and balance to any acoustic pickup signal.
Traditional, internal acoustic microphones have historically been trapped by physics. Enclosed inside your instrument, the sound reflections inside the guitar body make the mic sound boxy and sensitive to feedback, even at low volumes. The Lyric changed the rules.
What guitar player doesn’t like a little reverb? When we created the Synapse Personal PA years ago, we developed a custom acoustic reverb. This feature was so popular we had to use it when we created this pedal.
Inspired by our live video sessions, the Align Session brings studio quality saturation and multi-band compression to your pedalboard. Often used by studio engineers in post-production, saturation adds warmth, dimension, and harmonics to craft a rich sonic character for your acoustic signal.
