Setups

What's plugged into what?

It sounded great, and then you moved one cable. Setups is a canvas for drawing your signal flow until it makes sense: every device, every port, every cable, and the kind of signal it carries.

The whole rig

Every device on one canvas, its ports on the side of the box they're on.

Signal types

Each cable carries its kind of signal, line or MIDI or USB.

Snapshots

Save the setup before you rewire it. Restore it if the new way turns out worse.

How it works

  1. 1. Add your gear

Pick devices from the catalog and their ports come with them, on the side of the box they're on.

  2. 2. Wire it

Drag a cable from one port to another. Aureo knows what each port carries and warns you when a connection mixes signal types, unless you tell it there's an adapter.

  3. 3. Keep versions

Save a snapshot before you rewire, and restore it when the new way turns out worse.

The details

Cables
Drag them into any shape. Bundle the cables between two devices into one line with a count, or switch them to animated so you can follow the signal.
Signal types
Line, instrument, MIDI, USB and the rest. A mismatched connection gets a warning, and "Connect with an adapter" covers the ones you meant.
Focus
Select a device and dim everything that isn't wired to it.
Big rigs
Zoom out and crowded port sides fold into chips by signal, so a full case stays readable.
Snapshots
Save, restore, rename and delete named versions of a setup.
Cables you own
Mark a setup as in use and Aureo counts the cables and adapters you own against it, then tells you what it's short of.
Photos
Show your own photo or the catalog image on each device, keep a gallery and notes per setup, and export the whole thing as an image.
