The Catalog Is on the Web
The open catalog behind Aureo is now browseable on the web, not just inside the app.
When I started Aureo, the catalog was just the part that made everything else work: the data the plugin scanner matched against so you could see what you actually own. Over time it turned into something bigger: an open, community-driven record of the gear we use, with releases, specs, I/O, and version history.
That kind of data should belong to everyone, so it’s always been open on GitHub. The only catch was that browsing it meant reading raw files or opening the app. Now it doesn’t. It’s online at aureo.audio/catalog. Nothing to install, just a place to look gear up. You can go through it by category (synths, plugins, interfaces, monitors) or by brand, with a page for each maker.
It’s been filling out, too. Over the past couple months we’ve added around 68 new manufacturers, from Neumann, Genelec, and Focal to Rupert Neve Designs, Marshall, and Pioneer DJ, down to modular makers like ALM Busy Circuits and Bastl Instruments. If something’s missing or wrong, it’s open, so please help us make it better.
Mostly I just wanted a place I could point people to. Now there is one.
