  • Matrix 12

The Oberheim Matrix 12 is a legendary 12-voice analog synthesizer from the mid-1980s, widely regarded as one of the fattest and most programmable analog synthesizers ever made. It features Matrix Modulation for extensive virtual patching, 15 types of LFOs and VCAs per voice, and a 61-key velocity- and aftertouch-sensitive keyboard. Notable users include The Orb, Vangelis, Technotronic, and Depeche Mode.

  • Matrix 6R

The Oberheim Matrix 6R is the rack-mount version of the Matrix 6, a six-voice analog synthesizer produced from 1986 to 1988. It uses DCOs for stability while retaining a fully analog signal path, and features Oberheim's Matrix Modulation system for extensive virtual patching capabilities. Notable users include Orbital, Philip Glass, Future Sound of London, Tangerine Dream, and Mouse on Mars.

  • OB-1

The Oberheim OB-1 is a monophonic analog synthesizer released in 1978, notable as one of the first truly programmable analog synthesizers with 8 program memories. Based on the same architecture as the SEM, it features two VCOs and a switchable 2- or 4-pole filter. Notable users include Tangerine Dream, Rush, Vince Clarke, and The Grid.

  • OB-12

The Oberheim OB-12 is a 12-voice hybrid synthesizer released in 2000, designed to emulate the classic analog Oberheim filter sounds using physical modeling synthesis. It features extensive hands-on controls with 22 knobs, 24 sliders, and 33 buttons, a ribbon controller, built-in effects, motion recorder, and oscillator morphing capabilities.

  • OB-8

The OB-8 was the last of Oberheim's classic OB series, an eight-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer produced from 1983 to 1985. It featured a fully programmable architecture with dedicated knobs and sliders, switchable two- or four-pole filters, and Oberheim's proprietary digital buss system for connecting to other Oberheim instruments.

  • OB-Mx

The Oberheim OB-Mx is a fully analog rackmount synthesizer designed by Don Buchla, featuring modular voice expansion from 2 to 12 voices and dual filter types per voice emulating both classic Oberheim and Minimoog characteristics. It was one of the few true analog polyphonic synths available with full MIDI programmability in the mid-1990s.

  • OB-SX

The Oberheim OB-SX is a smaller, lighter, and more durable live performance version of the flagship OB-X synthesizer, produced from 1980 to 1983. It uses identical VCO/VCF/VCA circuits to the OB-X with a voice card architecture similar to the OB-Xa, delivering the same rich analog character in a more portable package. Patch memory was replaced with ROM presets, and the programming interface was simplified to real-time filter and envelope controls.

  • OB-X

The first in Oberheim's iconic OB series, a programmable polyphonic analog synthesizer available in four, six, or eight voice configurations, distinguished by its use of original SEM-style filters that give it a uniquely warm and open Oberheim character.

  • OB-Xa

The OB-Xa is a massive analog polyphonic synthesizer from Oberheim, available in four, six, or eight voice configurations with a classic, thick Oberheim sound. It features two VCOs per voice, switchable 2-pole/4-pole filters using Curtis CEM3320 chips, and up to 120 patch memories. A staple of 1980s music, it was used by artists including Van Halen, Prince, Depeche Mode, and Jean Michel Jarre.

  • OB-Xk

The Oberheim OB-Xk is a MIDI keyboard controller from 1986, originally designed to control Oberheim's Matrix and Xpander synthesizer modules. It features a 61-key velocity and aftertouch-sensitive keyboard with classic OB-style pitch and modulation controllers housed in a solid black metal case with wooden end-cheeks.

  • SEM

Oberheim's first official synthesizer, the Synthesizer Expander Module is a compact keyboardless analog voice module originally designed for layering with other monophonic synthesizers or serving as a versatile backup sound source.

  • Two Voice

The Oberheim Two Voice is a duophonic analog synthesizer built by coupling two SEM (Synthesizer Expander Module) modules to a 37-note keyboard and an analog step sequencer. Introduced in 1975, it was one of the earliest programmable polyphonic synthesizers, predating most competing designs from ARP and Moog. Notable users include Vince Clarke and Vangelis.

  • Two Voice Pro

The Oberheim Two Voice Pro is a modern reissue of the classic 1975-1979 analog duophonic synthesizer, featuring two independently programmable voices with four VCOs and 56 mini-jack patch points. It retains the sonic character of the original while adding velocity-sensitive and aftertouch-capable keys, an enhanced mini-sequencer, and MIDI connectivity.

  • Xpander

The Oberheim Xpander is a six-voice analog synthesizer module and the desktop version of the Matrix-12, sharing an identical voice architecture. Widely regarded as one of the most flexible non-modular analog synthesizers ever built, it excels at producing thick analog basses, pads, and complex evolving textures through its extensive modulation routing capabilities.
